The chair of the board asks whether there are any amendments or additions that must be made. The board chair will then decide on the agenda for discussion and a decision.\n<\/p>\n<p>The board examines reports from committees and departments. This section of the meeting usually includes progress updates including budgets and financial statements, proposal reviews, and more. It is a good idea to limit the amount of report-related topics to prevent the meeting from becoming bogged down in administrative issues.\n<\/p>\n<p>As the board members debate these issues, the chair helps them find common ground and agree on a solution. The chair will end the board meeting when there is no issues to be discussed or when the time when the meeting to end is near.\n<\/p>\n<p>Directors can be distracted by discussions that pop up at the time of the board meeting. These topics can disrupt important discussions. You can mitigate this by adding a &#8220;parking area&#8221; item to the agenda where directors can bring up random topics that are important, but not the top priority.
