The first volunteers to teach English have arrived in Colombia.

"The expectation of getting to know Colombia and the desire to help children and young people learn English were what motivated Andrew Johnson to volunteer for the 'Foreign Native Trainers' program, with which the government hopes to improve the quality of second language teaching in public schools."

This journalist and English teacher from Australia is one of the 124 citizens from 23 countries, aged between 20 and 30 years old, who were introduced by the Ministry of Education on Tuesday and will be teaching classes in 71 institutions that joined the program.
